Four people have tragically lost their lives in various rain-related accidents across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa since February 26, according to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Monday.

As per the report, four people have died and nine others have been injured in rain incidents. Among the deceased were three men and one woman, while the injured included four children, three women, and two men.

The continuing rains and snowfall have also caused property damage, affecting 14 houses in different areas. Ten were partially damaged, while three were destroyed.

The incidents occurred in multiple districts, including Haripur, Battagram, Bajaur, Upper and Lower Kohistan, Dir, Hangu, Khyber, and Torghar.

PDMA has instructed local district administrations to provide immediate relief to affected families and ensure proper medical care for the injured.

Authorities have also been directed to organize all available resources to clear blocked roads caused by heavy rain and snowfall. PDMA remains in constant coordination with local administrations and relief organizations.

A spokesperson for PDMA confirmed that the Emergency Operation Center is fully operational and urged the public to report any emergencies by calling 1700.

The snowfall in northern parts of the province has significantly dropped temperatures, with some areas experiencing sub-zero conditions.

As snow continues to blanket Tirah Valley, Chitral, and other surrounding regions, road conditions have worsened, causing transportation disruptions. Authorities are actively working to clear blocked routes and restore access for residents and travelers.

Despite the challenges, tourists continue to flock to the scenic, snow-covered landscapes, though authorities have advised caution due to slippery roads.

In Tirah Valley, a thick layer of snow has covered homes, trees, and mountains, creating a breathtaking winter scene. However, residents are facing difficulties due to blocked roads and harsh weather conditions.

The snowfall has also been significant in Chitral and nearby areas, including Kalash Valleys, Garam Chashma, Sheshi Koh, and Golen, where accumulation has ranged between 6 to 8 inches.

Chitral town reported 4 inches of snowfall, while Ayun recorded two inches. Authorities continue their relief and rescue operations to minimize disruptions while ensuring public safety.
