The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has rolled out a new age relaxation policy aimed at making public sector jobs more accessible for a wider group of candidates.

As per a notification issued by the Chief Secretary, applicants will now receive a general age relaxation of up to 10 years when applying for government jobs.

This extended age limit applies to positions in Grade 17 and above, as well as Secretariat posts in Grade 16 and below.

For jobs outside the Secretariat, the decision to grant age relaxation has been delegated to the relevant Administrative Secretaries and departmental heads, allowing more flexibility in the recruitment process.

In addition, the policy includes dedicated support for the families of public servants who lost their lives in terrorist incidents. Both widows and children of these employees will benefit from additional concessions under the new rules.

This step is part of a wider push by the provincial government to reform employment laws, including adjustments to the Civil Servants Rules of 2008, ensuring a more inclusive and supportive approach to recruitment.
