Schools across Sindh, including Karachi, will remain closed on Wednesday as the province observes a public holiday for Youm-e-Takbeer on May 28, 2025.

The Sindh government has declared a holiday for both public and private institutions in recognition of this significant national day.

According to an official notification, all educational institutions will be shut on Wednesday to commemorate the event and foster national pride.

“Youm-e-Takbeer marks the day when Pakistan successfully conducted its nuclear tests in 1998, affirming its position as a nuclear power.” The occasion is seen as a symbol of the country’s strength and determination.

Alongside schools, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has also announced it will remain closed on May 28 in observance of the national holiday.

Citizens across Sindh are encouraged to mark the day with fitting tributes and reflect on the nation’s achievements.
