Islamabad weather update: Hot, dry conditions with chance of rain

The weather across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and much of Pakistan is expected to stay mainly hot and dry from Sunday night through the next two days, with chances of isolated showers and windstorms during this period.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air continues to dominate the region.

As a result, most areas will see dry conditions, while the plains will remain particularly hot. Some scattered rain and partly cloudy skies are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

For Monday and Tuesday, temperatures are forecast to stay high, with Islamabad expected to reach between 34°C and 36°C on Monday and 33°C to 35°C on Tuesday.

In Rawalpindi, temperatures will likely range between 32°C and 34°C on Monday and 31°C to 33°C on Tuesday.

Over the last 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed across much of the country, with very hot conditions reported in the plains.

However, rain and gusty winds were observed in areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rainfall figures included:

Jacobabad and Turbat were the hottest spots in the country, hitting 47°C. Dadu followed closely at 46°C, while Nawabshah and Pasni recorded 45°C.
