At one point, it was rumoured that the film might cast Pakistani actors alongside Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself revealed the cast that he wanted. He named Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Imran Abbas as the dream cast for his project.
Later, Imran Abbas reshared Moin Beg’s post on Facebook, which showed him as the original Tajdar role player, whereas Alamzeb was supposed to be taken up by Mahira Khan.
Imran Abbas shared some snaps of himself in the Tajdar’s attire on his social media account as the final proof that he was chosen for the role.
In the post, the writer of Heeramandi also included Dilip Kumar’s reaction, who praised the two stars, comparing Mahira Khan to Madhubala and calling Imran Abbas the most handsome man.
