The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast continued hot and humid conditions across Karachi for the next three days, with a chance of light rain and dust-thunderstorms on the outskirts of the city today (Tuesday).

Tuesday’s temperature is expected to peak between 37°C and 39°C, with early morning lows around 27.5°C.

Humidity was recorded at 49% in the morning, with evening levels expected between 45% and 55%. Winds will shift from northeast to south/southwest through the day.

On Wednesday, May 7, the weather will remain hot and humid, though slightly milder. Temperatures may range between 36°C and 38°C during the day and drop to 27°C–29°C at night.

Morning humidity could spike to 70–80%, easing to 50–60% by evening, with winds continuing from the south/southwest.

Thursday, May 8, will bring more of the same, with highs between 35°C and 37°C and lows again between 27°C and 29°C. Humidity will remain high, especially in the morning, with wind patterns unchanged.

In nearby districts like Jamshoro, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, and Sujawal, the Met Office expects brief and scattered dust storms or light showers.

Meanwhile, health experts are raising concerns about a rising number of kidney infection cases in Karachi, likely triggered by the intense heat and dehydration.

Hospitals have seen more patients reporting symptoms like severe lower back pain, burning urination, low urine output, and fever.

Doctors strongly advise the public to stay well-hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, and remain indoors during peak heat hours.
