The federal government announced a reduction in petroleum product prices, offering relief to the inflation-stricken citizens. According to a notification by the Ministry of Finance, petrol and high-speed diesel prices had a reduction of two rupees per litre.

The new price of petrol is now Rs252.63 per litre, down from Rs254.63, while high-speed diesel now costs Rs256.64 per litre, previously priced at Rs258.64. These revised prices were determined based on the recommendations of OGRA and relevant ministries.

The price reduction will be effective for the next fifteen days starting from midnight. In addition to the fuel price cut, OGRA earlier announced a reduction in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), bringing more relief to domestic consumers.

The price of LPG declined by Rs3.20 per kilogram, setting the new rate at Rs245.16 per kg. Therefore, the cost of an 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder dropped by Rs37.80 and will be available at Rs. 2,893. These adjustments come amid ongoing economic challenges, aiming to ease the burden on households and small businesses.
