Govt raises diesel prices, petrol remains unchanged

PM Shehbaz led government has kept the petrol price in Pakistan steady while raising the cost of high-speed diesel (HSD) for the upcoming two weeks.

Petrol will remain priced at Rs247.03 per liter, while high-speed diesel has increased by Rs5 to Rs251.29 per liter. These new rates will take effect from October 16.

The finance ministry briefly stated that the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the prices based on changes in the global market.

According to the finance ministry’s notification, “The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices of petroleum products, based on the price variations in the international market.”

In the previous price review two weeks ago, petrol became cheaper by Rs2.07 per liter, dropping to Rs247.03. At the same time, high-speed diesel saw a decrease of Rs3.40 per liter, settling at Rs246.29.
