Starting July 1, the federal government is expected to raise fixed charges for domestic gas users.

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has decided to keep gas tariffs unchanged for households, but will adjust fixed charges in the domestic sector to help recover infrastructure costs.

As per a summary submitted by the Petroleum Division for the 2025–26 fiscal year, the fixed charge for those previously paying Rs400 will now rise to Rs600, according to sources.

Consumers who were paying Rs1,000 will see their fixed charge increase to Rs1,500, while those paying Rs2,000 will now be charged Rs3,000, sources further revealed.

These revised charges will be implemented from July 1, pending approval from the federal cabinet.
