Gas prices likely to rise by Rs 64 per MMBTU

Sui Northern Gas has presented a request to OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) to hoist the gas prices by Rs 64.16 as per the MMBTU.

According to the statement of the application, the Sui Northern is facing a financial loss of Rs 20.58 billion for the ongoing fiscal year, which also covers Rs 489 million for the LPG Air-Mix Project.

For the progression to take place RLNG (Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas) for domestic consumers during the current fiscal year, Sui Northern would experience the costs adding upto Rs 163.58 billion. The cost of gas is linked to HSFO (High Sulfur Fuel Oil) and crude oil prices.

Sui Northern has also petitioned for an increase in the RLNG supply cost for all consumer categories to Rs 1,711.73 per MMBTU, in operation from July 1, 2024.
