A report on Bushra Bibi’s jail conditions has been submitted to the Islamabad High Court, highlighting that she is under regular medical supervision and has access to her kitchen.
The case was heard by Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas on Tuesday, in response to a petition requesting improved facilities for the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Her legal representatives, Usman Gul and Zaheer Abbas Advocate, were present in court.
A report prepared by the jail superintendent was submitted by the Advocate General’s Office and was ordered to be shared with Bushra Bibi’s legal team for review.
The report noted that Bushra Bibi is held in a separate, well-sized room equipped with a mattress, table, chair, bookshelf, fan, and proper lighting. A cooler has been installed for summer, and she also has access to an LCD television.
Medical check-ups are carried out twice daily. She has been provided with a private kitchen, and the prison medical officer checks all her meals before consumption.
The court asked her counsel to respond after reviewing the report and said the case would proceed as per the court’s schedule.
Separately, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday extended Bushra Bibi’s interim bail until June 11 in two cases linked to the November 26 protest. Her legal team also requested an exemption from her appearance at the hearing.
