KARACHI: The Commissioner of Karachi has imposed a two-month ban on auto rickshaws. This operation will happen across 11 major roads in the city. The notification prohibits one plus two and one plus four passenger rickshaws from using these routes.

According to reports, the restricted areas include Shahrah Faisal from its starting point to Avari Tower Hotel, II Chandrigarh Road up to Shaheen Complex, and Shahrah Quaid-e-Azam through the Numaish intersection.

The ban also covers Sher Shah Suri Road, which connects to Matriculation Board Road, Shaheed-e-Millat Road until Jail Chowrangi, and Abdullah Haroon Road, which ends at the Do Talwar roundabout.

Additionally prohibited routes include the stretch from Do Talwar to Shahrah-e-Farooqi, Stadium Road, the district of Millennium Mall, Sir Shah Suleman Road, and Sir Habib Ibrahim Road.

The restriction also applies to Rashid Minhas Road, which leads to Dargh Road and Maripur Road through Gulbai Road. This regulatory measure is to take effect immediately and will continue till June 14, 2025.

Through this temporary road blockage, the city administration aims to clear these key routes and improve traffic flow. Traffic police are strictly directed to implement the ban and redirect rickshaw traffic to alternative routes during this period.
