Karachi: Federal investigators have arrested Atif Ahmed Khan, the husband of Lollywood star Nadia Hussain, in connection with a major bank fraud case.

He was taken into custody during a raid carried out by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Corporate Crime Circle at the couple’s residence.

The arrest came after the Board of Directors of a commercial bank filed a complaint, prompting an investigation into allegations of financial misconduct and fund embezzlement.

According to FIA officials, Atif Ahmed Khan is accused of misusing company funds for personal trading, reportedly involving a staggering Rs80 million.

He also faces allegations of unlawfully acquiring Rs600 million in third-party funds, which were allegedly disbursed from company resources at inflated rates.

The investigation further revealed that he was aided by former CFO Faisal Shaikh and Imtiaz Ahmed in carrying out the fraudulent activities.

Despite the serious accusations, the “Salam Zindagi” actress Nadia Hussain has yet to issue a statement regarding the matter. Married since 2003, the couple shares four children. Apart from her acting career, Nadia Hussain has also launched her own beauty venture.

The FIA continues its investigation, and more details are expected to surface as Atif Ahmed Khan and other individuals involved in the case undergo further interrogation.
