This edition of the tournament holds great significance, as it marks the return of a major ICC event to Pakistan after nearly 30 years.

Initially planned to be hosted entirely in Pakistan, the tournament’s format was modified after arch-rival India opted not to send its players over security concerns.

Despite this, the Pakistan Cricket Board has assured that all participating teams will receive full security arrangements.

Pakistan enters the tournament as the defending champion, having claimed victory in the 2017 edition held in England and Wales.

Meanwhile, Australia and India remain the most successful teams in the tournament’s history, with two titles each.
