AR Rahman’s bassist Mohini Dey announces separation from husband

AR Rahman, a world-renowned Indian musician, composer, and singer, is celebrated for his iconic contributions to Indian and international music. On November 19, Indian musician AR Rahman and well-known bassist Mohini Dey announced their divorce.

AR Rahman’s wife, Saira Bano, issued a statement through her lawyer, revealing that after many years of marriage.

The couple had decided to separate due to significant emotional stress in their relationship.
Rahman later confirmed the news on social media, expressing his deep shock at the separation.

Meanwhile, Mohini Dey also made an announcement on Instagram regarding her divorce, in a joint post, she and her husband shared that their decision to part ways was mutual.

They expressed their commitment to remain good friends and continue collaborating on projects, including the Mamoggi and Mohini Dey groups.

Part of several music shows, including ‘Coke Studio India’ and ‘Gaan Bangla’s Wind of Change.’

The two also post on Instagram, they wrote, “‘Dear friends, family, fans and followers, it is with a heavy heart that we share the news.

“That we have separated and this decision is ours, both have done it with mutual consent”.

She wrote, “we will continue to be good friends even after divorce, we both realized that both of us have different priorities in life and that’s why we agreed with each other.

“Decided to settle this matter together.”

She further wrote, “Even after our separation, we will continue to work together on various projects, including “Mamoggi” and “Mohini Dey” groups.

“We both are proud to work well together, and this will never stop.
He wrote that we have taken care of our privacy while maintaining the honor of and also taking care of it.

“Above all we want to share love around the world, we are grateful for all your support and all the love, please respect our decision that we have made for each other,” he wrote.
