As New Year celebrations get underway around the world, residents of Karachi have been keen to know whether Seaview Road will remain open during the festivities.

Karachi authorities have confirmed that Seaview Road will stay open for the public, easing concerns ahead of large crowds expected along the coastline tonight.

Like many major cities, Karachi marks the New Year with enthusiasm, and thousands of people traditionally head to Seaview with their families and friends to celebrate.

In past years, Seaview Road was often closed due to security issues, crowd management concerns, and previous incidents that raised safety questions. This year, however, officials have decided to keep the road accessible while enforcing strict security arrangements to ensure public safety.

According to SSP South, Seaview Road will remain open throughout the New Year celebrations, allowing citizens to visit the area without facing road closures. The official stated that while access is permitted, a zero-tolerance policy will be enforced against any activity that disrupts public order or poses a safety risk.

Special measures will be taken to prevent aerial firing, which has been a major concern during festive occasions in the city. The SSP warned that anyone involved in aerial firing will face strict legal action, including the registration of cases under attempted murder laws.

He added that one wheeling, another dangerous practice seen during celebrations, will not be allowed under any circumstances. To maintain law and order, more than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed along Seaview Road and in nearby areas.
