PIMS imposes ban on photography and videography in hospital

The administration of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad has announced a ban on photography and videography inside the hospital.

According to an official circular, taking pictures or recording videos in different departments is now strictly prohibited.

The circular explains that photography and videography will not be allowed in clinical areas such as emergency wards, outpatient departments (OPD), hospital wards, and operating theatres.

It also makes it clear that no recording of any kind can take place without prior written approval from the relevant authorities.

Hospital officials said the restriction applies to all clinical and service areas to protect patient privacy and uphold professional medical ethics.

Doctors, nursing staff, and administrative officers have been instructed to follow these guidelines carefully.

The administration has directed all department heads to ensure the rules are implemented without exception.

The circular also warns that disciplinary action will be taken against the concerned department’s in-charge if any violation is reported.
