NAROWAL: Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza has declared November 1 (Saturday) a public holiday across Narowal in connection with the annual Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lathani at Ali Pur Syedan Sharif.
According to an official notification, thousands of devotees from across the country are expected to attend the Urs to pay their respects.
The district administration has made comprehensive arrangements, including strict security, traffic management, and health facilities, to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.
Police, Rescue 1122, and health department teams will remain on special duty, while various religious programs such as Quran Khwani, Naat recitations, and spiritual gatherings will be organized to honor the saint’s legacy.
Prominent scholars will highlight the message of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah, focusing on peace, harmony, and unity.
The administration has also arranged food, ablution, and accommodation facilities for pilgrims. Deputy Commissioner Hassan Raza urged citizens to cooperate with authorities and maintain discipline during the Urs, assuring that essential services, including hospitals, emergency units, and municipal staff, will remain operational throughout the holiday.
