LAHORE: Smog is expected to linger over Lahore and other parts of Punjab for the next couple of days as dry weather and stable atmospheric conditions continue, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The PMD stated that continental air dominates most regions of Pakistan, resulting in dry weather across Lahore and several districts through Thursday night and the coming two days. Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas are likely to experience colder conditions.

Smog is likely to persist in major cities, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, and Multan.

Experts have urged people to take preventive measures to protect themselves from health issues caused by smog. They have particularly advised caution for children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory illnesses.

The minimum temperature in Lahore is expected to stay between 17°C and 19°C on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

During the past 24 hours, dry weather was reported in most areas of Punjab, while Murree and Galiyat remained cold. Smog persisted in Lahore and the eastern districts of the province.

Murree recorded the lowest temperature in Punjab at 08°C, with evening humidity at 46 percent. In Lahore, the minimum temperature was 18°C, and evening humidity reached 86 percent.
