A low-pressure system over India’s Gulf of Khambhat brought light to moderate rain across Karachi on Tuesday, offering brief relief from the heat but also causing waterlogging and traffic disruptions in low-lying areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department said the system, located near Gujarat’s Saurashtra region about 340 km from Karachi, is likely to move toward the northeast Arabian Sea and could strengthen into a depression.

Under its influence, more rain and thunderstorms are expected in Karachi, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Hyderabad, Thatta, Sujawal, Jamshoro, Naushahro Feroze, and adjoining districts.

Sea conditions are predicted to remain rough with winds of 45–55 km/h, and fishermen in Sindh have been warned against venturing into deep waters until October 2.
