The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall in Karachi from the evening of August 1 until August 2 due to a developing weather system.
According to the PMD, a strong low-pressure system that developed over the Bay of Bengal has retained its strength and is currently located over India’s Madhya Pradesh as a deep depression.
The department said the system is likely to weaken over the next 12 hours, changing into a depression before gradually turning into a low-pressure area within the following 24 to 36 hours.
The Met Office also said that moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are moving into the upper and central parts of Pakistan, while a westerly weather system is affecting the country’s northern areas.

As a result, intermittent rainfall is expected from the evening or night of July 31 through August 2 in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mithi, Sanghar, and Hyderabad.
For Karachi, the PMD expects light to moderate rain between the evening of August 1 and August 2. However, the department said there is currently no chance of heavy rainfall in the city from this weather system.
