The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a fresh alert warning of heavy rainfall, snowfall, and thunderstorms across Pakistan.
According to the NDMA, over the next 12 to 24 hours, most parts of the country are expected to experience strong winds and rainfall. Snowfall is likely in the upper and mountainous regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Isolated hailstorms may occur in parts of Balochistan, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Cities including Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Gujrat are expected to receive rainfall.
The alert also covers Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Jhang, Faisalabad, Kasur, Okara, and Narowal.
Heavy rain is anticipated in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan. Northern areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Waziristan are also likely to witness rainfall.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, Sargodha, and Kashmir regions, rainfall is expected in Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Astor, Diamer, Ghizer, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Haveli, and Neelum Valley. In Balochistan, precipitation may occur in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Kalat, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Barkhan, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Khuzdar, Awaran, Washuk, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, and Lasbela.
The NDMA warned that strong winds, lightning, and hail may damage weak structures, trees, and power lines. Slippery roads could disrupt traffic, and snowfall in mountainous areas may affect transportation. Travelers are urged to exercise caution.
The authority also highlighted the increased risk of landslides in hilly areas due to continuous rain. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, drive carefully, and follow weather advisories.

During storms and high winds, people should stay away from trees, weak structures, and installations. Tourists and travelers to northern areas should check weather conditions and road safety before traveling.
The NDMA urged the public to use the official Pak NDMA Disaster Alert app for timely updates and instructed all provincial and district agencies to remain on alert to manage potential weather-related emergencies.
