LAHORE/SIALKOT: Dense fog has caused major disruptions at Lahore and Sialkot International airports, as reported on Monday.

At Lahore airport, several international flights have been delayed due to the thick fog. A private airline’s flight PA-474 to Riyadh was held up for ten hours, while flight SV-739 to Jeddah faced an eleven-hour delay. Flight PA-410 to Dubai was also postponed by eleven hours.

Sialkot International Airport and its surrounding areas are also experiencing dense fog, affecting flight operations and schedules.

An airport spokesperson said that a minimum visibility of 500 metres is required for safe flight operations, while the current visibility remains around 100 metres. He added that flight operations will resume once visibility improves.

The fog has also severely impacted road traffic in Punjab, including Lahore, disrupting daily life. According to motorway authorities, the M2 from Lahore to Kot Momin is closed.

Entry of heavy vehicles is banned on M3 from Faizpur to Jaranwala and M4 from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakim. Motorway M11 from Lahore to Sialkot has been closed for all traffic.
