The Punjab Tourism Department has announced that the Thal Desert Rally 2025 will be held from November 6 to 9, turning the sandy stretches of Layyah, Kot Addu, and Muzaffargarh into a lively center of motorsports, culture, and tourism.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the Lahore Museum, where Secretary Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Punjab Dr. Ehsan Bhutta shared details of the upcoming event.

He said the rally, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is an important part of the “Magnificent Punjab” Tourism Revival Vision.

Dr. Bhutta said the Thal Desert Rally is not just a racing event but a platform to highlight the region’s cultural richness, craftsmanship, folk traditions, and the Sufi heritage of South Punjab.

He added that Punjab Police, Rangers, Rescue 1122, and the Health Department will provide security and emergency services throughout the rally.

TDCP Managing Director Asim Raza said that nearly 100 racers, including female drivers and top champions like Mir Nadir Magsi, Sahibzada Sultan Muhammad Ali, Zain Mehmood, and the Khakwani Brothers, will take part in the competition this year.

Alongside the race, visitors will enjoy folk music nights, camel and horse shows, tent-pegging contests, artisan markets, and desert heritage performances, turning the event into a grand celebration of South Punjab’s adventure and culture.
