Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has inaugurated the newly rehabilitated Memon Goth Road, which was completed for Rs233.5 million.
The upgraded road is expected to improve connectivity between Karachi and Malir, making travel faster and more convenient for commuters.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony on Friday, Wahab said the improvement of the road has significantly reduced travel time between Karachi and Malir, bringing it down to around 15 to 20 minutes.
He said that before the road construction began, necessary work related to traffic management, sewerage and road foundations was completed to prevent the need for repeated digging and excavation after the project’s completion.

The mayor added that development work on several roads along Makran Road has already started, while the tendering process for additional road projects is underway.
Meanwhile, construction work is also in progress on the proposed dual carriageway connecting Karachi Airport with Malir Cantt. The project will provide access towards Kathore and the rear side of the airport, with plans to eventually link the route to the motorway.
These projects are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Karachi’s road network, improve connectivity and reduce travel time on major routes.
