A flood wave from the River Ravi has entered several areas of Lahore, submerging localities such as Badru Pind, Talluq Pura, Mehna Wal, Chuhng, and Theme Park, according to the report.

Many affected residents were forced to leave their homes, moving with their families and belongings to the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway, which has become a temporary shelter.

Floodwaters have spread across much of the residential belt beneath the motorway from Thokar Niaz Baig onwards.

Displaced families shared that they managed to save only essential possessions before taking refuge on higher ground.

Earlier, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) for deploying thermal drones in rescue efforts across flood-hit regions.

With much of Punjab under CCTV surveillance, the use of thermal imaging technology helped authorities detect stranded people and livestock in districts including Sialkot, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Jhang.

The PSCA-led initiative enabled the successful coordination of more than 800 rescue cases, ensuring timely evacuations and relief.

CM Maryam Nawaz also acknowledged the authority’s efforts on her Facebook page, commending their role in supporting rescue operations.
