Petrol and diesel prices raised again in Pakistan

The prices of high-speed diesel (HSD) and motor spirit (MS) petrol have been increased for the next 24 hours under the daily fuel pricing mechanism.

Petrol has become costlier by Rs1.63 per litre, taking the new price to Rs335.81 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel has also been raised by Rs1.55 per litre, bringing it to Rs388.38 per litre.

Meanwhile, international oil prices have eased from Saturday’s peak of $100 per barrel, with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude now trading below $80 per barrel.

Earlier this week, on Monday, the price of petrol was reduced by Rs1 per litre to Rs334.18 per litre. However, the price of diesel was increased by Rs3.37 per litre, reaching Rs386.83 per litre.

Since the introduction of daily fuel price revisions, petrol prices have increased by Rs25.09 per litre, while diesel prices have surged by Rs65.05 per litre.
