LPG prices have climbed sharply, putting heavy pressure on households and transport operators. In Gujranwala, LPG is being sold between Rs420 and Rs460 per kilogram, while in Karachi, rates have reached Rs350 to Rs380 per kilogram.

Ali Haider, Convener of the LPG Committee, said the increase cannot be blamed on retailers alone. “Marketing companies and distributors are also contributing to the increase. The Rs130 per kilogram rise is not just the retailers’ doing,” he said.

On the other hand, an OGRA spokesperson stated that no official notice about the price hike has been received. “If retailers are charging above the government-approved rate, the provincial government should take action.

The delay in LPG supply of 3.5 million kilograms at Port Qasim is also beyond OGRA’s jurisdiction,” the spokesperson added.
