Chicken prices jump to Rs600/Kg as public demands action

Chicken prices in the city continue to climb, raising concern among residents. Market sources say the cost of chicken meat has gone up by another Rs21 per kilogram, bringing the official rate to Rs569 per kilogram today.

They also shared that live broiler chicken is officially set at Rs365 per kilogram, but farmers are supplying it at Rs380 per kilogram.

Vendors say that in local markets, chicken meat is selling for more than Rs600 per kilogram, going beyond the official price.

People have expressed worry over the steady increase and are calling on the authorities to step in and control the rates.
