The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board launched an operation against the unlawful sale of government issued textbooks carrying the label “Not for Sale” in the Hashtnagri area of Peshawar. During the action, a private bookshop was sealed, and textbooks meant for free distribution were taken into custody.
The crackdown was ordered by KPTBB Chairman Abidullah Kakakhel. Secretary Dr Zainullah Garwaki and the Assistant Commissioner of Peshawar oversaw the raid.
Officials sealed Abdullah Book Agency after discovering that government textbooks were being sold there. The stock was confiscated on the spot, and the shop was closed.
The board has directed that a First Information Report be registered against the shop owner, Abdullah. KPTBB said it will continue to take firm action against those involved in selling government provided textbooks illegally.
