Deputy Commissioner Karachi Malir carried out a raid against wheat hoarders on Friday, sealing two rice mills for illegally storing large stocks of wheat, as per the report.

During the operation, three rice mills were inspected, and 75,000 sacks of wheat were recovered from Silver Rice Mill and Asif Rice Mill, both of which were sealed. The raid caused panic among workers present at the mills.

The deputy commissioner said the crackdown was launched at the Sindh government’s direction to ensure that cheap flour reaches the public, as profiteers had hidden massive quantities of wheat.

He confirmed that the confiscated wheat has been seized, the mills sealed, and strict action will continue against hoarders to provide relief to citizens.
