Rainfall expected in Sindh from July 30: Met office

KARACHI: The Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in the southeastern and other districts of Sindh on July 30 and 31, though with intervals.

Most areas in the province will continue to see hot and humid weather, but showers are likely in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Mithi, Sanghar, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, and Dadu during this period.

Today, Karachi is experiencing cloudy skies with sea breeze blowing at 18 kilometers per hour. While the city is not expected to receive heavy rain over the next week, light drizzle may occur during the morning and nighttime hours.

Humid and cloudy conditions will likely persist, with temperatures touching 35 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office further stated that weak monsoon winds are affecting the upper and central parts of the country and are likely to strengthen by July 28. A westerly weather system is also expected to arrive on July 29.

From July 28 to 31, widespread rainfall with occasional heavy showers is forecast for many parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, and several others.

Meanwhile, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to receive rain from July 27 to 31, with showers also forecast in Punjab and Islamabad from July 28 to 31.

Southern Punjab will likely see rain from July 29 to 31, while Balochistan is expected to receive rainfall starting the night of July 29 through July 31.
