Petroleum product prices are expected to go up this week, with the revised rates likely to come into effect from 1st March 2026, subject to government approval. According to Arif Habib Limited, the proposed increase may reach up to Rs6.8 per litre.
Motor Spirit petrol is likely to see an increase of Rs5.13 per litre, taking the price to Rs263.30 per litre. High-speed diesel is also expected to rise by Rs6.8 per litre, pushing its rate to Rs282.50 per litre from 1st March 2026.
The anticipated hike is mainly linked to higher international oil prices. Arab Light crude has risen by 2.7 percent, while a slight increase in spreads has further added to the projected adjustment.
In the last fortnightly revision, the federal government raised the price of high-speed diesel to Rs275.7 per litre and petrol to Rs258.17 per litre.
