Admissions on quota seats in Punjab’s medical and dental colleges will begin from December 1, with applications to be submitted through the University of Health Sciences’ online portal, as per the report on Tuesday. For the first time, candidates from other provinces will be able to apply directly instead of relying on a nomination system.
Under the policy approved by the provincial cabinet, 26 MBBS and 4 BDS seats are set aside for students from Islamabad, while candidates from Azad Jammu and Kashmir have 36 MBBS and 3 BDS seats. Gilgit-Baltistan students have 55 MBBS and 5 BDS seats, and Balochistan has 20 MBBS seats under the Goodwill category.
Students from the former FATA region have 21 MBBS and 6 BDS seats, while Balochistan’s HEC Scholarship category includes 28 MBBS and 10 BDS seats. Another 28 MBBS and 10 BDS seats are allocated for former FATA students under the HEC scholarship quota.
Applicants must hold a domicile from their respective province or region and meet the PM&DC’s eligibility requirements. The online application window will remain open until December 15.
To assist applicants, UHS has set up a dedicated help desk to be led by Deputy Registrar of Public Affairs Yasir Sultan.
