The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has stepped up its action against illegal housing schemes and unauthorized constructions on the orders of Director General Kinza Murtaza.

In its latest move, the RDA Task Force sealed the office of an unlawful housing project and lodged an FIR against its owners.

An RDA spokesperson confirmed that the drive, overseen by DG Kinza Murtaza, will continue with strict measures to safeguard citizens from fraud and land grabbing carried out under the banner of illegal housing societies.

She explained that several complaints had been received about forced land occupations by scheme operators and warned that tough action would be taken against anyone found guilty.

The RDA has also been issuing regular public notices, urging citizens not to invest in unauthorized projects. People are advised to confirm the approval status of any housing scheme through the RDA’s official website and deal only with legally sanctioned societies.

According to officials, warnings had already been issued to the scheme’s sponsors to stop illegal advertising, bookings, and development work. Despite these notices, the owners kept operating booking offices in violation of the law.

The operation was carried out by RDA officers, including Assistant Director Building Control Shiza Butt and Assistant Directors Planning Ali Raza, Mehwish Naseem, and Ahmad Hassan, with assistance from police personnel of the New Airport Islamabad Police Station.
