Gold rates suddenly decline in Pakistan

Gold prices in Pakistan fell on Thursday, following a downward trend in the international market. In the local trade, the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs2,000, closing at Rs396,800.

The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reported that the 10-gram rate also decreased, settling at Rs340,192 after a decline of Rs1,714.

A day earlier, on Wednesday, the per tola price had held steady at Rs398,800.

Globally, gold prices also slipped, with rates recorded at $3,750 per ounce (including a $20 premium), reflecting a decrease of $20, according to APGJSA.

Meanwhile, silver moved in the opposite direction, with prices rising by Rs26 per tola to reach Rs4,663 in the local market.
