More rain & thunderstorms expected to continue nationwide

According to the Meteorological Department, weak monsoon currents are steadily moving through the upper and central regions of the country and are expected to become stronger from July 28. A westerly weather system is also likely to arrive on July 29.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan

Rain and thunderstorms, with chances of isolated heavy rainfall, are expected in areas of Kashmir including Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur from July 27 to 31.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain and thunder are likely in Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar during the same period, with breaks in between.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Rain, thunderstorms, and isolated heavy showers are forecast in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan from July 28 to 31, with intervals between spells.

Punjab and Islamabad

Rain and thunderstorms with scattered heavy falls are expected from July 28 to 31 in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khanewal, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Kasur, and Okara.

In the southern parts including Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanewal, Pakpattan, Vehari, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Kot Addu, showers are likely from July 29 to 31, again with intervals.

Balochistan

Rain and thunder with isolated heavy downpours are likely in northeastern and southern districts like Barkhan, Musakhel, Loralai, Sibi, Harnai, Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Lasbela, Awaran, Khuzdar, Quetta, Zhob, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Ziarat, Kalat, and Sherani from the night of July 29 through July 31.

Sindh

While most areas will see hot and humid conditions, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Mithi, Khairpur, Dadu, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Sanghar, Sukkur, Ghotki, and Larkana on July 30 and 31, with occasional breaks.
