Rain and storms expected in Karachi over next 24 hours

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain accompanied by thunderstorms and the possibility of hail in Karachi over the next 24 hours.

The Met Office warned that some parts of the city could see heavy rainfall, with hail expected in isolated areas.

It said the maximum temperature is likely to stay between 31°C and 33°C. Humidity levels have been recorded at 88 percent, and winds are blowing at around 8 kilometres per hour.

Officials noted that a system of westerly winds is expected to affect the country from March 25, bringing rain to Karachi starting tomorrow evening.

The PMD added that the city is likely to receive rainfall on March 25 and 26, with another spell expected on March 28 and 29. Some areas may experience heavy rain along with thunderstorms and hail.
