Monsoon alert: Heavy rain, storms expected in Pakistan from June 25

Moist air is making its way into Pakistan’s upper and central regions and is expected to grow stronger in the next few days. A westerly system is also forecast to move into northern areas on June 25, becoming more active by June 26.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan: From the evening of June 24 to July 2, areas in Kashmir like Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, and others will likely receive rain and thunderstorms, with some places seeing heavy to very heavy downpours.

Gilgit-Baltistan (including Diamir, Skardu, and Hunza) can expect similar weather between June 26 and 29.

Punjab and Islamabad: From June 25 to July 1, regions like Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sialkot are expected to see rain and thunderstorms, with heavy rain possible. Southern Punjab cities such as Multan and Bahawalpur may receive rain from June 26 to 28.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Areas including Swat, Chitral, Peshawar, and D.I. Khan will likely experience rain and thunderstorms from June 25 to July 1, with occasional heavy falls.

Balochistan: Rain and wind are expected from the night of June 25 to June 28 in regions like Kalat, Khuzdar, and Dera Bugti.

Sindh: From June 25 to 28, places including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Tharparkar are expected to get rain with winds and thunder.
