Lahore: The official logo for the Basant festival has been finalized, featuring Lahore Fort, colorful kites and elements of Punjabi culture, according to the source on Friday.
The design captures the spirit of Basant through drums, flowers and vibrant colors. Colorful kites, drums and traditional cultural instruments are shown on the sides of the logo, while artwork representing Punjabi culture, along with flowers and bright shades, appears along the bottom and edges.
All official Basant related activities will follow the same branding. Authorities have also introduced an official trademark to prevent the use of fake posters and the organization of unauthorized events. The logo will be mandatory on all permits and promotional material linked to Basant celebrations.
Meanwhile, police seized a loader truck filled with kites during a crackdown on illegal kite sales in Shahdara, Lahore. SP City Bilal Ahmad said more than 12,000 kites were recovered, while two suspects involved in supplying kites illegally were arrested and booked.
According to police, the suspects were bringing kites from Faisalabad under the pretense of having a license and planned to sell them in Lahore. Shahdara Chowki Sagian police took timely action and seized the vehicle carrying the illegal consignment.
The suspects were using a loader truck and cardboard boxes to transport the kites. The vehicle was also taken into custody. In total, 12,600 ready made kites worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were recovered and a case was registered.
