Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has announced that the long-debated issue of out-of-syllabus questions in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) has been fully resolved, removing a major concern for aspiring medical students nationwide.

Speaking to reporters, the minister said that after thorough consultations with vice chancellors from all four provinces, a unified question paper has been finalized for the upcoming MDCAT.

He explained that a question bank of 3,000 questions has been developed, and each province will receive three separate versions of the paper, from which one will be chosen for the exam.

“The controversy over out-of-syllabus questions has finally ended,” Kamal said. “This step will ensure transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity for all students.”

The minister added that the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is responsible for designing the syllabus and compiling the question bank, while provincial authorities will be held accountable in the event of any paper leak.

According to official figures, MDCAT 2025 will be held on October 26, with 140,125 candidates set to appear at 35 examination centers across Pakistan and one international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
