The Punjab government has approved plans to build three major hospitals in Lahore, with all three facilities set to be established in LDA City, according to the report on Tuesday.
Under the plan, 216 acres of land in LDA City have been allocated for the Nawaz Sharif Medical City. The Maryam Nawaz Institute of Pediatric Health Sciences will have 352 beds and is expected to cost around Rs8 billion.
A 175-bed burn, plastic surgery and trauma center will also be built as part of the Nawaz Sharif Institute. The project has been estimated to cost Rs6.15 billion.

The Nawaz Sharif Institute of Genetic Blood Diseases is also planned at the same site, with an estimated cost of Rs10 billion.
The Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) has been tasked with overseeing the construction of all three hospitals.
