Punjab introduces SEHR program for women

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced the SEHR (Skill Enhancement Through Home Reach) Program to provide women across the province with modern vocational skills and help them achieve financial independence.

The initiative will offer home-based technical and vocational training to 5,365 women in fields such as beautification, hospitality and digital technology.

Officials said the program has been allocated more than Rs. 970 million to strengthen the province’s skilled female workforce.

Under the first phase, 2,065 women from four districts will receive beautification training through partnerships with the private sector.

Women taking part in the program will also receive laptops, internet devices, data packages and a monthly stipend to support their training from home.

CM Maryam Nawaz congratulated the women joining the initiative as well as those who will complete the training. She said women are one of Punjab’s greatest strengths and the government is working to create more opportunities that promote their development, financial independence and respectable employment.

She added that the Punjab government is focused on providing women with modern technical and vocational skills so they can meet the changing demands of the job market and play a stronger role in the province’s economic progress.
