The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has stepped up its campaign against the unlawful use of LED, police-style and flasher lights on vehicles to make roads safer across the district.

Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam said that drivers who install or use unauthorized lights on cars and motorcycles are breaking the law and will face strict action.

He explained that proper, standard vehicle lighting is essential for safe driving, especially at night when clear visibility is crucial to prevent accidents.

Farhan Aslam warned that LED and flasher lights can cause glare and confusion for other drivers, which increases the chances of crashes. He advised motorists to avoid installing such lights and to follow traffic laws.

In addition to enforcement, the department’s education wing has started an awareness campaign to educate drivers about the dangers of using non-standard lighting.

The traffic police chief also appealed to citizens to cooperate with authorities and observe road safety rules to ensure safer travel for everyone in Rawalpindi.
