The Punjab government has announced updated labor wages for government construction and development projects that will remain in effect from July to December 2026.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Department, the daily wage for unskilled workers has been set at Rs1,538.
Skilled workers, including masons, electricians, plumbers, welders, and other trades, will receive Rs2,000 per day. Semi-skilled workers such as gardeners, chainmen, and similar workers will be paid Rs1,560 per day.
The government has also fixed the minimum monthly wage for workers at Rs40,000.

These revised rates will be applied while preparing cost estimates for government development schemes and construction projects. As a result, the estimated costs of public sector projects and government contracts are also likely to increase.
The Finance Department has officially issued the notification, and the revised wage rates will remain applicable for the next six months.
