ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain and thunderstorms with strong winds in Islamabad, Sindh, southern Punjab, Kashmir, parts of Balochistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa starting Monday.

The weather remained hot and humid across most parts of the country over the last 24 hours.

However, heavy showers are expected in parts of southern Sindh, eastern Balochistan, and Kashmir, while other areas will continue to face heat and humidity.

Islamabad and surrounding regions may see partly cloudy skies with humid conditions and possible nighttime rain.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will stay hot and humid, though areas like Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kurram, and Waziristan could see scattered rain and thunderstorms.

Punjab will also see partly cloudy and humid weather, but cities such as Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan are likely to get thunderstorms.

Rain is also expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and nearby areas.

In Sindh, several areas, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Thatta, Tharparkar, and others, are forecast to receive rain and thunderstorms, with a possibility of heavy downpours in some regions.

In Balochistan, most places will remain hot and humid. However, rain with thunder is expected in Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu, Musakhel, Killa Saifullah, Loralai, Dera Bugti, Nasirabad, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, and Lasbela.

Meanwhile, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan may experience partly cloudy skies along with rain and thunderstorms. Isolated heavy showers are likely in Kashmir.

Authorities have advised the public to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid unnecessary movement in areas at risk of strong winds and heavy rain.
