Solar panel prices in Lahore have started to decline, with market rates dropping by around Rs4,000 to Rs9,000 across different panel categories.

Traders say the reduction is linked to the recent decrease in petroleum prices. They also expect solar equipment to become cheaper in the coming days if fuel prices stay stable.

Industry sources further noted that battery prices, which had previously risen due to higher transport and logistics costs, are also expected to ease. Earlier, batteries had become costlier by Rs27,000 to Rs38,000 per unit during the period of high fuel prices.

The overall decline in solar system costs is expected to provide some relief to consumers looking to shift toward renewable energy, even as electricity costs remain high.
