The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has sealed several branches of the fast food chain KFC in Lahore over alleged tax violations, official sources confirmed.

According to the sources, five KFC outlets have been sealed, including branches in DHA EME, Askari 10 and DHA Z Block.

KFC has not yet issued a response regarding the action. ProPakistani has contacted the company for its comments and will update the story once a response is received.

The move follows similar action taken by the PRA against several branches of the coffee chain Double Shot in Lahore. The authority had accused the business of underreporting sales and violating electronic invoicing regulations.

In an order issued under Section 59A of the Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act, 2012, the PRA stated that the company had allegedly bypassed the mandatory Electronic Invoice Monitoring System and under-declared taxable sales.

Separately, tax authorities in Islamabad sealed a Red Apple outlet in F-6 Markaz over allegations of issuing unverified sales tax receipts. Initial reports said the outlet was sealed after concerns were raised about the alleged issuance of non-authenticated or improper tax invoices, leading to action by tax enforcement officials.
