Punjab govt orders salary reductions for officers and ministers

The Punjab Finance Department has issued a notification regarding salary deductions for government officials and elected representatives in the province.

According to the notification, officers in Grade 17 and above will have a deduction equal to two days’ salary, and the collected funds will be deposited into the Federal Government of Pakistan Emergency Fund.

The notification also states that Maryam Nawaz, along with all provincial ministers, special assistants, advisers, and parliamentary secretaries, will have two months’ salaries deducted.

Members of the Punjab Assembly will face a 25 percent salary deduction for two months. Officials said the measure is intended to contribute funds to the federal emergency fund in light of the current financial situation.
