The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has indicated that its Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams for 2026 at overseas centres may be postponed due to the current security situation in the region.

In a letter dated March 18, 2026, the board said it is keeping a close watch on developments in Gulf countries and reviewing plans for exams that are scheduled to start on March 31, 2026.

According to the board, if the uncertainty continues, exams at international centres could be delayed and rescheduled after Eid ul-Fitr, in consultation with students, educational institutions and other stakeholders.

FBISE Chairman Prof. Dr. Ikram Ali Malik said the board understands the concerns of students and schools and is working on alternative arrangements if needed.

He further stated that appropriate steps will be taken if security conditions, government restrictions or logistical issues make it difficult to hold the exams as planned.

The update has caused concern among overseas students preparing for the SSC exams, while authorities continue to review the situation and keep all concerned informed.
